Life is crazy, right? Man, sometimes I'm in awe of life-how it flows and just moves on.
In my previous blog, I posted a quick video of a day in the life with my cousin Mo. Still, sometimes I stop to think how weird it is to be at this place in our lives. Mo is more like a brother to me than a cousin. He's five months older than me and so we grew up doing a lot together. We rode in strollers together, watched "the mighty ducks" and wwf wrestling together, played youth league basketball together...and eventually Jesus starting growing us to where we were dreaming about serving Him(Jesus) together.
About six months before Mo's car accident, Mo had made a complete one-eighty turn around. Before, basketball was his life, then, after a missions trip to Mexico, he fully turned his life around to put his Savior as number One. I could honestly say it's the first time I've witnessed first-hand what it looked like for someone to make a complete one-eighty-degree turn in their life. It was soo sweet. We started sharing things we were learning in our lives with Christ with each other and brainstorming ideas for how we could love on people and passionately share with them the hope that we have.
Then on November 27th, 2007, Mo left my house that morning to go to class and asked me, "hey, you coming to my game tonight? first home game man..." I was like, "yeah, for sure...see you there" he said, "not if i see you first..." lol:) we laughed and then said "later."
Three hours later, I got a call from my dad saying Mo had been in a serious car accident.
Now, three years later, I look back and am still soo heartbroken but my heart also feels something else. I don't know if I could really think of a word for what I feel exactly but i know it's something that somehow soothes the heartbreak.
In this video, you'll see how Jesus can work terrible things for His glory and how in some crazy, weird way...Mo and I are doing exactly what we used to talk about doing. It most definitely doesn't look how we pictured it, but right now, this is where God has us. I still have faith soo strong that Jesus is going to make Mo new in time; in His perfect inerrant time.
So we push through and live on.
